Wiring
The following prewire information is for a platform type elevator, some variations will apply for different types of elevators.
A Kialift elevator control system is simple to pre-wire as it does not have a large amount of cabling. Basically all that is required is a standard pre-wire kit supplied by Kialift or you can supply your own as all cables are all industry standard and readily available. To ensure the right pre-wire kit is supplied to you, please fill out the pre-wire kit ordering form. This can be obtained from Kiatronics on request. This specifies the typical length of the landing and pit cables. It is an easy tick box order form.
The reason we supply a pre-wire kit is that most of the cables are pre-terminated with plugs to allow for an efficient fit off when it comes time to install the elevator.
There are 3 main areas that are involved in the pre-wire. These are the plant room, the pit and the doors. A simple breakdown of the wiring can be described as follows.
All cables to the doors and pit are wired back to the plant room. There is a single cable to each door controller and 3 cables to the pit. At each door there are a further 2 cables from the door controller to the door safety switch and electric strike.
There is also a cable to be run for the elevator light interface and alarm siren.
Electric strikes are supplied in the kit if requested so the onsite builder can fit these in the door jambs during the build process.
